Netgear N750 vs. N600

For personal usage or a small group of people, these wireless routers are certainly viable choices if you want something that doesn’t break the bank. Each available much under a hundred bucks, Netgear N600 and Netgear N750 may seem quite similar to each other. Their prices also don’t differ too much from each other. So, is there any actual difference between Netgear N600 and Netgear N750? Which is the router model that you should get for the fullest value out of your money without too much of a compromise?

Design
Both Netgear N600 and Netgear N750 are dual-band routers, which means, each of them features a single 2.4 GHz signal channel and a single 5 GHz signal channel, both signal channels can work simultaneously. They also come with some connection ports. Each of them features one WAN and four LAN Gigabit Ethernet ports with auto-sensing technology for easy and reliable connections, plus a USB 2.0 jack that can be handy for various purposes, from connecting another computer device to porting a network-attached storage.

However, putting the two models side by side, we may notice that Netgear N750 is a little bit bulkier than Netgear N600. The N750 is also slightly heavier than the N600. The designs of the indicator lights are also different. N600 has icon-shaped indicator lights that are placed in the middle of the side surface, while N750 has regular dot indicator lights, placed at the long corner of the side surface, accompanied by written symbols.

Features
Netgear N600 and Netgear N750 come with identical features as well. They are already armed with double SPI and NAT firewall protection and DoS attack prevention system. They also come with the DMZ feature for enhanced, secure gaming experience. There are some network management and access control features, easily accessible through the Netgear Genie mobile app. You can also build a separate guest network access for providing an Internet access to your friends and relatives coming over.

Performance
Perhaps the only significant difference between Netgear N600 and Netgear N750 is the available bandwidth. Netgear N600 offers a total bandwidth of 600 Mbps, split evenly for the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz channels. Meanwhile, Netgear N750 offers 300 Mbps and 450 Mbps for the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz channels, respectively.

With a marginal price increment, you can get a higher maximum speed from Netgear N750. Therefore, you should choose Netgear N750 for the better network performance!
