Linksys routers are always trusted by many people when they seek for a router that is decent and reliable, yet doesn’t break the bank. In a previous article, we have ever discussed the comparisons between Linksys AC1200 and Linksys AC1600. This time, we are about to take a look at Linksys AC1200 and Linksys AC1900. Again, these two routers are available under a hundred bucks each. The AC1200 is quite more affordable than the AC1900, being cheaper by a few tens of bucks. Which is the model that holds the fullest value?
Performance
Perhaps we would like to know how the two compare against each other in terms of performance. Linksys AC1200 is a dual-band router with two adjustable external antennas. It’s got 300 Mbps for the 2.4 GHz wireless signal channel and 867 Mbps for the 5 GHz, totaling with 1167 Mbps of bandwidth. It has a decent coverage area, and it should be able to provide network access for a medium-sized home. Having adjustable external antennas is nice, as you will be able to control the directions of wireless signal projection more properly. Unfortunately, Linksys AC1200 does not support beamforming yet, so some devices, especially the ones in bad corners, may not enjoy optimum network quality.
On the other hand, Linksys AC1900 is also a dual-band router, but it offers 600 Mbps for the 2.4 GHz channel and 1300 Mbps for the 5 GHz channel. As you can see, it offers larger amounts of bandwidth for both wireless channels. It has three adjustable external antennas. It has a slightly wider coverage area, but, most importantly, it already supports beamforming. The technology allows the router to focus the wireless signal projection towards every device connected to the network, enhancing the connection stability and reliability.
Features
For sure, Linksys AC1900 is more feature-packed than Linksys AC1200. Among the most significant features is the connection ports. Whereas AC1200 comes with one WAN, four LAN, and one USB 2.0 ports, AC1900 features one WAN and four LAN Gigabit Ethernet ports, plus one USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0. The addition of a USB 3.0 jack is very beneficial, as it is a lot faster than a USB 2.0 port.
Furthermore, AC1900 has already been armed with QoS traffic management, too. Thus, it is able to prioritize bandwidth and speed for certain activities, ensuring for sufficient network performance and reliability for heavy duties.

All in all, Linksys AC1900 comes with a lot more advantages. The immense upgrade in performance is one huge value. Therefore, Linksys AC1900 is the best choice here!
