We have discussed about HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 and HP OfficeJet Pro 8630 in a prior article, two heavy-duty printer models from HP that have somewhat different prices. This time, we are going to compare HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 to Epson WorkForce 4630. These two models are being sold at the same level, and you can get either of them under three hundred dollars. They are also popular choices for people who seek high performance, as they can print at high speeds with output quality. They are both all-in-one printer models. Which one holds the bigger value for our money?
Design
Both models are designed to be all-in-one printers, so they are not only capable of printing, but also copying, scanning, and faxing. Both models also support wireless and mobile printing. Putting the two models side by side, we can see that Epson WorkForce 4630 is quite bulkier than HP OfficeJet Pro 8620. It is certainly taller and wider by a few inches. Both models weigh above 30 lbs and are colored in black.
Performance and Output Quality
Do you print a lot more in black-and-white? If so, HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 is a nice choice because the model prints ISO black-and-white at 21 ppm, considerably faster than the other contender. Additional Features
Both models come with Wi-Fi connectivity and support mobile printing by using either their respective mobile apps or AirPrint. However, only HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 that has Bluetooth connectivity and supports NFC technology. These extra features can be handy at times.
Both models also do auto duplex (2-sided) printing. They have large trays and come with Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) feature. Epson WorkForce 4630 has a considerably larger input tray (330-page vs. 250-page), but HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 has a bigger ADF tray (50-page vs. 35-page).
