HP Officejet 6600 vs 6700

For the average home and typical office use, having an all-in-one printer model almost always makes the most cost-efficient way. And, for such kind of purpose, HP has made several Officejet models, integrating the functionalities of printer, copier, scanner, and fax into one neat machine. Two models available in the same price range are HP Officejet 6600 and HP Officejet 6700. These two products seem to share many similarities. Design
Both HP Officejet 6600 and HP Officejet 6700 are all-in-one printers. They come with a similar design. However, HP Officejet 6600’s front panel has some glossy part, while HP Officejet 6700 has more doff color. HP Officejet 6700 is also a little bit bulkier than HP Officejet 6600. Nevertheless, they each has been armed with a 2.65” color touchscreen for easy and intuitive operation. On the top side, you can find the scanner surface which functions for copying, scanning, and faxing. Each of the two models also comes with a 250-sheet input tray, a 35-sheet Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), and a 75-sheet output tray.

Performance
Quite interestingly, HP Officejet 6700 offers printing speeds that are quite significantly better than HP Officejet 6600. The ISO printing speeds of HP Officejet 6600 are 14 ppm black, 8 ppm color. Meanwhile, the maximum printing speeds are 32 ppm black and 30 ppm color. On the other hand, HP Officejet 6700 offers 16 ISO ppm black and 9 ISO ppm color, with 34 ppm black and 31 ppm color printing speeds. Each model’s optical scan resolution is 1200 dpi, which should be sufficient for digitalizing text documents and medium-sized photos.

Features
As mentioned above, HP Officejet 6700 comes with a slightly bigger body. This is obviously because the model comes with some additional features. Most notably, unlike HP Officejet 6600, HP Officejet 6700 has been armed with an automatic two-sided printing mode. Combined with the higher printing speeds, HP Officejet 6700 can take care of two-sided papers in much shorter time than HP Officejet 6600. In addition, both models come with built-in wi-fi which makes mobile printing a breeze, but only HP Officejet 6700 that comes with an Ethernet port, which allows for shared usage in a network.

HP Officejet 6600 vs 6700
Indeed, HP Officejet 6700 comes with significantly improved performance. For usage in an office, this feature, along with the Ethernet connectivity, are very beneficial. So, for usage in an office, HP Officejet 6700 should be the way to go. However, for home usage, you may choose HP Officejet 6600 to save some money. It is slower, but it is cheaper. Most homes don’t need a blazing-fast printer anyway.
