Getting a random multipurpose printer is easy, but getting one that can deliver satisfying photo printing quality is not. However, HP has introduced the HP Envy, a series of multipurpose printer models that also offer the capability to print high-quality photographs and images. HP Envy 5530 and HP Envy 5660 are two models available for under one hundred dollars. Between these two, which is the one that you should choose? Design
These two printers are both all-in-one photo printers. They have the functionalities of a copier, scanner, also document printer and photo printer. Even though the basic features are similar, the two products appear with very different shapes and looks. HP Envy 5530 is pretty wide but is very short. On the good side, it is rather portable. The top cover is flat, and underneath the top cover, you can find the flatbed scanner. For control, HP Envy 5530 comes with a 2.65” color touchscreen that is put on the front for easy access.
HP Envy 5660, on the other hand, is a thud bigger and bulkier. It requires slightly more surface area than HP Envy 5530, and it is also taller. The flatbed scanner is also accessible from the top, while, for control, HP Envy 5660 also features a 2.65” color touchscreen on the center of its front panel.

Performance
What is great about these two printers is that, no matter which model that you choose, you will not miss an important function or feature. Both HP Envy 5530 and HP Envy 5660 come with similar additional features that enhance their performance and the ease-of-use. Both models support Wi-Fi for wireless and mobile printing, and also automatic two-sided printing to save your precious time. Both also support the maximum paper size of up to 8.5” x 14”, which means that you can use Letter and Legal paper sizes just fine. Their scanners have the optical resolution of 1200 dpi, which should be sufficient for scanning all text documents and small to medium-sized pictures.
Yet, HP Envy 5660 indeed offers a higher performance level than HP Envy 5530. HP Envy 5660 is able to print much faster, with 14 ISO ppm for black and 9 ISO ppm for color. As a comparison, HP Envy 5530 comes with printing speeds of 8.8 ISO ppm for black, 5.2 ISO ppm for color. The gaps are real. However, HP Envy 5530 comes with a 100-sheet input tray and a 30-sheet output tray, while HP Envy 5660 comes with a 125-sheet input tray, a 15-sheet photo tray, and a 25-sheet output tray.

If you are going to handle lots of papers daily, you should choose HP Envy 5660. The higher printing speeds are very beneficial to save you some time. However, for occasional use, HP Envy 5530 is most probably sufficient already.
