HP Designjet T120 vs Canon IPF605

Are you confused in choosing between HP Designjet T120 and Canon IPF605? These two products are both large-format printers with excellent printing quality, great choices if you often handle large-sized pictures and banners. HP Designjet T120 and Canon IPF605 are available in a similar price range. So, which is the one that you should choose?


HP Designjet T120
HP Designjet T120 is a 24-inch large-format printer featuring an intuitive control and wireless connectivity. The design is very neat and elegant; you can find a display screen on the left part of the printer that provides a very convenient control. As a large-format printer, HP Designjet T120 is obviously supposed to be compatible with a variety of papers, and it can handle not only various paper sizes but also paper types, including bond and coated paper, film, photo paper, etc. It has three input paths: an automatic feeder input tray, a manual feed, and a roll feed. The printer itself relies on HP Thermal Inkjet system, featuring CMYK ink tanks to accomplish the job. It delivers excellent results. With a maximum resolution of 1200 x 1200 and guaranteed minimum line width of 0.07 mm, it can easily reproduce the subtlest details with full and solid colors. In addition to the standard Ethernet and USB ports, HP Designjet T120 also features built-in Wi-Fi that allows for wireless and mobile printing. Canon IPF605
Canon IPF605 is also a 24-inch large-format printer. As if the norm, Canon IPF605 also comes with three input paths: a top-loading manual feed, a front-loading manual feed, and a roll feed. Canon IPF605 also utilizes CMYK inks to perform the job. However, Canon IPF605 comes with two black channels for better colors and dynamics reproduction. The model offers a maximum print resolution of 2400 x 1200, which is indeed slightly better than HP Designjet T120. Unfortunately, Canon IPF605 does not come with any wireless connectivity. Instead, Canon IPF605 relies on Ethernet, USB, and Firewire for connecting with other devices.

HP Designjet T120 vs Canon IPF605
Canon IPF605 has a slightly better print quality than HP Designjet T120, but is without built-in Wi-Fi. For professional purposes that require the best print quality possible, Canon IPF605 should be the way to go. However, if you are fine with the 1200 x 1200 resolution, then you should go with HP Designjet T120 – it offers built-in Wi-Fi, which is very handy, along with a neat display screen for control.
