Hence, as the effect, despite both products’ popularity on the market, you may want to be very careful here not to make a wrong decision. There is a general belief that is not always true that the more expensive models come with higher specs and more features. Even so, if you want to get the fullest bang out of the bucks, you need to make sure whether you will benefit from the additions or not. Below, we will break down the comparisons between Fujitsu FI 7160 and Fujitsu IX500 to help you decide.
Design
Both Fujitsu FI 7160 and Fujitsu IX500 are sheetfed color scanner machines. Unlike flatbed scanners that require you to put the paper on the optical surface, sheetfed scanners allow you to put the papers in the input tray. The automatic document feeder (ADF) will then take the papers in one by one to be scanned. Fujitsu IX500 is a pretty straightforward device. It does not have many buttons, functioning as intended with just a handful of controls. On the other hand, Fujitsu FI 7160’s body comes with more rounded edges that enhance the looks of the machine. It features a small display screen with function and navigation buttons for easy and intuitive control.
Size-wise, Fujitsu FI 7160 is a little bit bulkier and heavier than Fujitsu IX500. This is, of course, because of the larger capacity. Fujitsu FI 7160 is able to hold up to 80 sheets of papers at once on the ADF tray. The maximum paper size is Legal (216 mm x 355.6 mm). On the other hand, Fujitsu IX500 can only hold up to 50 sheets of papers of up to A4 size (210 mm x 297 mm).
