Quite interestingly, Epson SureColor P600 and Epson SureColor P800 actually share many similar features, such as the on-printer touchscreen control, three paper feeds (consisting of the top automatic document feeder, the manual feeder for s specialty single sheet up to 1.3mm thick, and a roll paper feeder), and nine UltraChrome pigment-based ink cartridges. With the advanced nine-cartridge ink system, P600 and P800 are both able to deliver a wide color gamut with sharp and crisp details. They can create such a vivid dynamic, thanks to the black ink switching between Photo Black and Matte Black inks. Both deliver superb color printing quality.

Bigger Ink Tanks for Larger Papers
Despite the similar high printing quality, there are certain reasons of why you may need to use P800 instead of P600. If you put the two models side by side, you can then notice that Epson SureColor P800 is a thud bulkier than Epson SureColor P600. This is because of two reasons: a larger input tray and bigger ink tanks.
Epson SureColor P600 comes with a wide 13” platform, allowing the printer to have a maximum printing area of 13” x 129”. Each of the ink cartridges has a capacity of 25.9 mL, which is generally sufficient for professional usage. However, Epson SureColor P800 comes with an ultra-wide 17” platform. It has an extended maximum printing area of 17” x 590”. In addition, in order to ensure that it has enough ink to print on extra-large papers, it comes with 80-mL ink cartridges.
Epson SureColor P600 vs P800
Considering that the price gap between Epson SureColor P600 and Epson SureColor P800 is quite significant, you need to be careful in choosing here. Epson SureColor P800 is obviously not for everybody, and is the way to go if you work with 17”-wide sheets. Otherwise, Epson SureColor P600 is the most cost-efficient way to go.
