Epson SureColor P600 and Canon Pixma Pro 1 are excellent viable choices If you are looking for an inkjet printer for professional purposes. Each coming with a sophisticated ink system, they both boast superb color printing quality suitable for even demanding photographs. However, Canon Pixma Pro 1 is currently being priced more expensively than Epson SureColor P600. So, which is the one that you should get?
Design
In terms of design, Epson SureColor P600 is noticeably more compact and lightweight compared to Canon Pixma Pro 1. Those properties indeed make a plus point, as a smaller and lighter construction allows for less space requirement and easier placement. The differences are because of Canon Pixma Pro 1 using more ink tanks than Epson SureColor P600, and we will discuss further about the ink systems later.
On the front panel of Epson SureColor P600, you can find a touchscreen and some function buttons for an intuitive and practical control. Powered by the nine-color pigment-based Epson UltraChrome HD ink technology, Epson SureColor P600 can effortlessly deliver very sharp and crisp images. The auto-switching black ink technology allows the printer to automatically switch between the photo and matte black inks for the best colors and dynamics reproduction.
On the other hand, Canon Pixma Pro 1 features a maximum printing resolution of 4800 x 2400 dpi. The FINE print head is capable of delivering 4pl droplet size. The model boasts a 12-ink system featuring 12 LUCIA inks for a truly accurate, full, and solid color reproduction.
Both models come with the standard connection ports of Ethernet and USB. However, Epson SureColor P600 also comes with built-in Wi-Fi for easy wireless and mobile printing. Canon Pixma Pro 1 does not have any wireless connectivity.
