Design
Epson ET 2500 and Epson ET 2550 are actually roughly of the same size, each measuring 15.4-inch x 23.3-inch x 9.2-inch and weighing 14.4 pounds. As all-in-one printers, each of the two models has integrated scanner and copier. The scanner surface is on the top, under the liftable lid, and also acts as the copier; meanwhile, the function buttons can be found on the front panel. However, you can notice here that they do come with different control schemes. Epson ET 2500 features regular function and control buttons on the front panel. On the other hand, Epson ET 2550 features a 1.4-inch color LCD screen for a more intuitive and convenient operation. You simply cycle through the menu using the navigation buttons provided.

On the right side of the printer, there is a rather bulky container which opens to show the ink tanks. Unlike many other home/office printer models, Epson ET 2500 and Epson ET 2550 don’t use ink cartridges; instead, they rely on refillable ultra-large ink tanks to operate. The ink tanks come with a very large capacity, sufficient for printing up to 4,000 black-and-white pages or 6,500 color pages before needing any refill. Those numbers are equal to roughly two years of usage with average users. Such design makes an ultra-low operation cost!

Performance and Feature
Epson ET 2500 and Epson ET 2550 have excellent performance suitable for home and office usage. The maximum print resolution is 5760 x 1440 optimized dpi. They are also quite fast; they are able to print with ISO settings at 9.0 ppm for black-and-white pages and 4.5 ppm for color pages. The scanner is also able to capture and reproduce decent details and colors, thanks to the 1200 x 2400 dpi hardware resolution. Both models have built-in Wi-Fi for easy wireless and mobile printing. However, Epson ET 2550 also comes with Wi-Fi Direct, iPrint, and AirPrint functions.

Epson ET 2550 vs ET 2500
Epson ET 2500 and Epson ET 2550 actually come with similar performance and output quality. However, Epson ET 2550 is more feature-packed, coming with additional wireless features and a display screen. For the most convenient usage, Epson ET 2550 is the way to go.
