Canon Pixma iP110 vs. Epson WorkForce WF-100

Some people have special needs. While most printers are designed to remain static, staying at specific places, some of us need something that can be brought anywhere and anytime. We, very busy people, often need a printer that can be brought along with us so that we will be able to print our documents immediately. Luckily, Canon and Epson acknowledge such need and have designed some cool mobile printers: Canon Pixma iP110 and Epson WorkForce WF-100. These mobile printers are both available only around two hundred bucks, so they are quite affordable. Worth a note, Epson WorkForce WF-100 is usually a little bit more expensive than Canon Pixma iP110. So, which printer should we choose? Let’s compare them first!

Canon Pixma iP110 vs. Epson WorkForce WF-100

Design
Canon Pixma iP110 and Epson WorkForce WF-100 are both designed to be portable mobile printers, so a compact design is a very crucial thing for them both. Quite interestingly, both models have similar overall dimensions; there are of course a few inches of differences here and there, but you can have no problem bringing either of them as they are not really big anyway. Both models are also very lightweight! Nevertheless, Epson WorkForce WF-100 has a slight advantage here because it is lighter than Canon Pixma iP110; 3.5 lbs compared to 4.3 lbs. I don’t think the 0.8 lbs difference can be a hindrance, though.

Performance and Output Quality
You can’t exactly expect these models to be lightning fast, like those high-end printer models made for heavy duties in big offices, but they both are still quick enough to be reliable for personal usage. And, more importantly, they can provide excellent printing quality! These models are loved by many users because they offer high resolutions. Images can be reproduced with nice details, and they use CMYK inks to deliver vibrant and vivid colors.

However, Canon Pixma iP110 is able to print considerably faster than Epson WorkForce WF-100. It can reach 9 ppm for ISO black-and-white printing, 5.9 ppm for ISO color printing. For comparison, Epson WorkForce WF-100 has 6.7 ISO ppm and 3.8 ISO ppm for monochrome and color printing, respectively. The speeds are even lower when operating with battery. Besides that, Canon Pixma iP110 has a higher maximum resolution than Epson WorkForce WF-100 (9600 x 2400 dpi compared to 5760 x 1440 dpi), so it delivers better printing quality. Both models come with Wi-Fi and can operate with either AC adapter or battery.
